Blind woman 'sees' unborn son for first time through 3D Ultrasound
There’s nothing like a mother’s touch.
A new documentary by Huggies Brazil shows the emotional moment a blind woman feels her baby’s face for the first time.
Tatiana Guerra, who lost her eyesight at the age of 17, cannot see the ultrasound of her unborn son.
She relies on a doctor's description of him.
But thanks to 3D printing technology, the 30-year-old has been able to touch her little boy, who she has already named Murilo.
The nearly four minute video begins with Tatiana talking excitedly about meeting her son.
“When I put my hand on my stomach and feel his little head on the other side… his little hands moving… it’s as though we have superpowers and nothing could hurt us,” she says in the video.
“Mommy can’t wait to feel your little body, your little face, your little hands.”
The mum-to-be then visits the doctor for an ultrasound.
“What does his face look like, doctor?” Tatiana asks.
The doctor asks her: “if you could touch him, would that let you know what he’s like?”
A nurse then hands Tatiana a 3D printed image of her son.
Her reaction is simply magical.
“I’m very happy to meet Murilo… before he’s born,” she says through tears.
Tatiana traces her baby's face and the words “I am your son” written above his stencil.
“Thanks Doctor,” she says at the end, overcome with emotion.
