Tourist attacked by ladyboy in Thailand

An Irish tourist has been attacked by a lady boy in Thailand after declining an offer for sexual services.

Michael Merry,55,was approached by the transgender woman when he was walking down a street in Pattaya around 3am on Sunday.

The Irish Mirror reports that local police spokesman Piyapong Ensan said that the attacker had been identified as transgender person, Wichai Sripalang. Prior to the attack, the 24-year-old had suggested that Mr Merry might like to have some fun.


The police spokesman said: “The transgender woman who approached him and offered sexual services, he declined the offer but she then put her arms around him and molested him.

“This annoyed him and he shoved her away, causing her to fall to the ground. When she stood up she took of one of her shoes, and used it to hit the victim over the head.”

He noted that Mr Merry was left with a deep wound in his head and had to have first aid treatment.

His attacker who was still at the scene when police arrived, admitted that they had assaulted the tourist. Wichai was questioned by police and charged with physically assaulting another person.

The coastal resort town of Pattaya, which is located east of Bangkok, is well known for its seedy nightlife and high crime rate.

Lady boys in Pattaya are notorious for preying on foreign tourists, according to Thai Visa News.

Several incidents have been reported that they pick-pocketed tourists after they surrounded and hugged them.
