Death row gran heartbroken at news of Bali Nine executions

A British grandmother on death row is said to be devastated at the news of good friend Andrew Chan's imminent death and said she too wants 'to get it over with'.

Lindsay Sandiford, 58, was sentenced to death in 2013 for importing 4.8kg of cocaine into Bali.

Sandiford, who struck up a friendship with fellow Kerobokan inmate Andrew Chan, was reportedly heartbroken when she learned he and eight other offenders would be executed on Tuesday night.

"If they kill someone as good as Andrew, what hope is there for me," she reportedly told a friend.

"I just want to get it over with, I feel like giving up."

Chan, who married his fiancé Febyanti Herewila overnight in prison, has written to Sandiford three times since being transferred to the so-called death island where he is awaiting imminent execution, The Mirror reports.

In the letters, the 31-year-old reportedly says he is scared of the bullets and fears it won't be quick.

It is understood the pair's families have been told to say their last goodbyes by 2pm on Tuesday (5pm AEST) before the executions are carried out on Nusakambangan island, Central Java, after midnight.

The prosecution argued Sandiford should be sentenced to 17 years behind bars after co-operation with police to arrest those the drugs were destined for - three British nationals who received far lighter punishment.

The mother of two, who had no previous criminal offences and a background as a legal clerk in England, has always insisted she was forced into the operation by a drug gang who threatened her sons.

The British Government has refused to fund Sandiford's legal appeal and a Facebook page set up to try and raise the much-needed cash has accrued just 700.

Six drug offenders have already been sent to the firing squad in Indonesia this year.

Indonesian authorities have said all 58 foreign drug convicts currently incarcerated will be executed by the end of this year.
