Two murderers in jail for killing homosexual men have wed in what is believed to be the world’s first jailhouse gay marriage.

Metro reportspaedophile Mikhail Gallatinov married Marc Goodwin in a 15 minute ceremony near at a prison near York in the United Kingdom last week.

Gallatinov,40, is serving a life sentence for the 1997 murder of 28-year-old Adrian Kaminsky.

Goodwin, 31, is serving a life sentence for killing Malcolm Benfold, 57, in Blackpool in 2007 during a “gay bashing spree”.

The pair were married at a private ceremony in the visitors area of the Full Stutton Prison in East Yorkshire, the Mirror reports, in the presence of family members, prison staff and a security detail.

The pair reportedly wore suits at the privately funded affair and exchanged metal wedding rings they had purchased, with permission, from a mail order catalogue.

While it was undoubtedly a happy day for the newly weds, the brother of one of the victims told reporters his family was still suffering while the murders could do “whatever they wanted”.

“How can you go out and kill a man for being gay and then have a gay wedding in prison? I can’t see any logic in it,” Tony Benfold said.

“The other chap has only got 12 months left before his parole hearing while my brother’s killer has to serve another 10 years.”

Prisoners in the UK have long had the right to marry while serving their sentences thanks to changes to marriage law in 1983.

They are far from the first notorious criminals to tie the knot in one of Her Majesty’s prisons.

Infamous gangster Reggie Kray married in Maidstone Prison while serving a life sentence for murder in 1997, the Mirror said.
