A woman has been hailed a feminist hero, after uploading a brutally honest marriage profile to the internet.

When Indhuja Pillai from Bangalore discovered that her parents had posted her profile to a dating website, she quickly removed it and decided to make a more realistic page.

The 23-year-old who works at the internet company Tripigator, made her own marriage profile website which went well beyond her likes and dislikes and said she was ‘definitely not marriage material', reports Daily Mail Australia.

Speaking on her blog about the profile her parents created, Indhuja said: '[The] details were, name: Indhuja, profession: Software Engineer.’

'I went like, "WTF is happening here," because, I am no g***amn software engineer and I'm only 23!'

While the profile set up by her parents made her look like a woman ‘desperate to get married’, her new website does the very opposite.

In her marriage profile Indhuja describes herself as a non-drinker, who plays badminton and sings and dances.

She added 'I wear glasses and look dorky in them’ and that she is ‘not a womanly woman'.

Indhuja then described her perfect man as bearded, passionate about seeing the world and his job.

She added that he ‘must be flexible with his parents’ and that it would be better if he was ‘NOT a family guy’ and hates children.

Indhuja has told her parents to send her profile to anyone who has the nerve to ask for her hand in marriage.

She also noted on her profile: "If you think you qualify, I recommend you re-think. If you are sure, I suggest you show this website to your parents."

Her refreshing profile which challenged traditional perceptions of femininity and womanhood went viral after just 48 hours and has seen Indhuja hailed as the face of modern India, reports Daily Mail Australia.

In a follow up blog post Indhuja described the widespread support that her unique profile had.

"For starters, people like genuine guts. They respect confident and free women, in the right way," she wrote.

"Many women could relate to the plight of their parents pestering them to get married."

She added that men, who were not give a choice, could only dream of marrying someone like the woman described in her profile.
