Lightning bolt strikes metres from car

A driver has caught the moment a lightning bolt struck scarily close to his car, splitting a tree in two.

Vision taken from a dashcam shows the tree to the right getting split apart by the lightning bolt as the car sits in park.

At first, the scene shows a normal, peaceful street. But seconds later, there's a bolt of lightning and a loud crack.

The incident is believed to have happened in a quiet province in China.

The tree narrowly misses the driver's car, but left them with an almighty fright.
