Is this the world's drunkest man?

An Iowa man who was arrested for speeding was allegedly so drunk even a breathalyser couldn't measure it.

Levi Carter was allegedly caught doing 88km/h in a 40 zone when he ran off the road and ran into a street sign, the New York Daily News reported.

Carter then allegedly abandoned the car and headed back to his home. Police tracked the man and found him in the basement "reeking of alcohol" and "talking to people that were not there."

Despite his state, the man allegedly claimed he had only drunk two light beers several hours earlier.

After failing a sobriety test, Carter then reportedly blew a .467 alcohol blood reading before the device flashed with an error message.

He was arrested over his alleged drink driving.
