Padbury man killed in Alkimos crash

A 27-year-old man was killed early yesterday when he was thrown from a Suzuki Vitara 4WD and trapped underneath the vehicle when it flipped and rolled on sand dunes in Alkimos.

The Padbury man was sitting in the backseat and was not wearing a seatbelt when the vehicle flipped on a large drop-off over a sand dune near Pipidinny Road and Shorehaven Boulevard early Saturday morning.

The 49-year-old driver and another passenger, also aged 27, were wearing their seat belts and received minor injuries.

Major crash investigators want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw the crash or saw the Suzuki Vitara before the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
