Woolworths shopper reveals heart-warming experience

A Woolworths customer has taken to social media to thank the retailer for a touching in-store experience.

The customer posted a Facebook shout out to her local Woolworths store for their response to a medical emergency on Wednesday.

“Thank you so much to John and the amazing crew at Woolies Parkside in Townsville,” the woman wrote.

“My mother had a medical episode in store this morning.

“They called her an ambulance and gave her lovely care until I got there,” the customer wrote.

The woman, whose profile picture reads “proud to be a nurse,” indicated that she had received even further surprising service from the retailer.

“When my sister and I went back to thank them this afternoon, they generously gave her a bunch of flowers and a cake as it’s her 79th birthday today.”

Accompanying the post is a photograph of an arrangement of pink and white flowers with a vanilla jam and cream cake.

“Thanks for being so great!” the woman wrote.

‘Very proud of our team’: Woolworths responds

Woolworths has since responded to the woman's heart-warming story.

In a comment on the original post, Woolworths thanked the customer for sharing the lovely story.

“We really appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your amazing experience at our Parkside store,” the comment reads.

“We’ve made sure to let the store manager know about this and we’re sure they’ll be having a smile on their face whilst reading it.”

The retailer ended their comment by commending their team for their efforts.

“Thanks, we’re very proud of our team!”

Customers are no strangers to fantastic service from Woolworths.

A young girl had a special reaction to the inclusion of disabled athletes in the retailer’s newest collectables, and a woman was surprised to find free gifted chocolate with her delivery over Easter.

Woolworths team help ‘vulnerable’ customer

Another customer has taken to Woolworths’s Facebook page recently to praise a NSW Woolworths team for their empathy during a panic attack.

“Today during my shop I was shaking and trying not to cry, by the time I got to the checkout I was barely holding it together,” the woman wrote.

“The two beautiful humans who served me offered me water and let me go outside to get some air while they finished scanning my items and packed my trolley for me.”

The customer wrote that she was also offered assistance getting the groceries to her car.

“Receiving kindness in a vulnerable moment is so appreciated, and I am so thrilled with the service I received,” she said.
