'Wrong on so many levels': Woolworths shopper finds nasty surprise in chicken meal
A man has come across a nasty surprise while making his way through a hot chicken meal he bought from Woolworths for lunch.
He spotted an unexpected item in his pack of warm chicken pieces purchased from the Woolworths Caulfield North store, in southeast Melbourne, on Thursday.
After polishing off two pieces, the man noticed a hunk of feathers on another piece, some of which were still attached.
Speaking with Yahoo News Australia, he said he was particularly perplexed at how the abnormality was overlooked by Woolworths staff.
“I was pissed off it was clearly visible that there were feathers in a piece and yet they still packed them and put them out,” the man, from inner city Elsternwick, said.

While he fortunately didn’t suffer any illness as a result, he said he was concerned he could have become sick “especially with everything going on at the moment”.
The chicken was returned to the supermarket and the shopper was given a refund.
People online outraged by disturbing find
He wasn’t the only one disturbed by the feathers on the chicken.
After sharing his experience to the supermarket’s Facebook, others seemed similarly troubled.
Photos of the chicken showed feathers clearly protruding from the meat and others sitting among the pieces inside the pack.
One person said it was enough to turn them off chicken completely, writing: “Yuck, back to vegan.”
“Oh my, that is so wrong on so many levels,” another person wrote.
A Woolworths spokesperson told Yahoo News Australia they were disappointed at the discovery.
“We pride ourselves on providing high quality meat to our customers, so we’re disappointed to see this,” they said in a statement.
“If ever our customers are disappointed with the quality of fresh meat, we’d encourage them to contact their local store to replace or refund the product.”
