Woolworths is going the extra mile to help customers in Victoria by expanding their contactless drive-thru service to almost 30 more stores across the state.
The supermarket giant said the demand for pick up has grown by more than 50 per cent in Victoria since the second lockdown came into effect at the start of July.
“The needs of our customers are changing in the pandemic, and so is the way we serve them,” Woolworths Victoria General Manager Andrew Hall said.
The drive-thru service allows customers to order groceries online and have our personal shoppers pick it for them in-store.
When customers arrive to collect their shopping they can alert staff via the Woolworths app or SMS link to notify the store team who will then pack the order directly in the boot contactless and with no additional charge.
“Drive Thru offers a fast, convenient and contactless way to pick up your grocery shop while maintaining social distance. We have rostered dedicated Personal Shoppers to support the service and deliver groceries directly to the boot,” Mr Hall said.
Not only is the service making it easier to abide by social distancing guidelines, Mr Hall said it can make grocery shopping for those with mobility issues a much simpler process.
“It’s a great option for those with mobility challenges and anyone looking to limit their outings due to COVID-19,” he said.
All Drive Thru orders are placed through Woolworths.com.au with a minimum value of $30. Orders placed before 1pm can be picked up in a nominated one-hour window between 4-7pm the same day. Orders placed after 1pm can be picked up any time the next day.
There are now more than 100 stores with Drive Thru available, with plans to launch dozens more in the coming weeks.
