Woolworths delivery driver slammed over 'selfish' park

A Woolworths delivery truck has been caught on camera parked in a non-parking zone, and blocking two disability permitted vans parked in a disable parking zone.

The incident was captured by a local who posted the image in the Australian Disability Parking Wall of Shame Facebook group.

In the image the two vans can be seen parked in marked disability zones with the Woolworths truck squeezed in-between them, blocking the easy access often required for disability vehicles.

“10:45am Friday 12th July, Woolworths delivery truck parked in the disability lined access zone between 2 disability permitted vans. Location: Bendigo, Central Deborah Gold Mine,” the post read.

People in the group are not impressed with most calling on the original poster to report the driver to Woolworths.

“Woolies will not be happy and the driver will be reprimanded, but only if you let Woolies know about it,” one person said.

“This just makes me so mad. Thoughtless, selfish, entitled driver who thinks of no one but themselves,” another person responded.

One person pointed out how the truck had now blocked access to the disable-permitted vans.

“Screw the disabled people that need to get back into those vans, I guess they'll just have to wait for this jerk to do his deliveries,” a person said.

Woolworths responded to the image on social media, stating that the grocery giant would address the issue with the driver of the vehicle.

A spokesperson for Woolworths told Yahoo News Australia “All delivery drivers are expected to abide by local road laws and parking restrictions.”

“We’ll look into this customer report and address it with our transport partner. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused to community members in Bendigo.”
