Woolworths customer hits out over 'rare' discovery: 'RIPPED OFF'

A Woolworths customer has encouraged the retailer to contact its supplier Fairy after making a disappointing discovery in her packet of dishwashing capsules.

The West Australian customer reached out to Woolworths on its official Facebook page to bring attention to a whopping 30-item discrepancy in her Fairy purchase.

“Not happy with you charging for 52 dishwasher tablets when there were only 22 in the actual package,” the customer wrote.

“You should have a word with Fairy about their quality control before many more customers are ripped off.”

In a follow-up comment, the customer clarified that she wasn’t seeking anything from Woolworths, but merely intended to make the issue known to the retailer.

“I just wanted you to be aware your suppliers might be ripping off your customers. Going to be counting these each time I open a packet, that's for sure!” she wrote.

Fellow shoppers have taken to the comments section to share their experiences with Fairy dishwashing tablets, stating that they’ll be on the lookout for similar issues.

“My husband opened the bag and started complaining about the waste of packaging as it was like those chip packets that are only one quarter full, then he just said 'no way there are 52 in there!',” one customer wrote.

“Wow, I use this brand too. Time to count the next packet,” wrote another.

“I use this brand too and never thought of counting them, I will be from now on,” commented a third.

Fairy 'regretful' to learn of product discrepancy

A representative of Procter & Gamble, who produce Fairy products, told Yahoo News that the company is disappointed to learn of the customer’s experience.

“Occurrences of product underfill are both rare and regretful," the spokesperson said.

"Customer satisfaction is of the highest importance to the Fairy brand and we are disappointed that on this occasion we have not met the mark.

“We are working with our partners to investigate the matter and will be extending our full assistance to the impacted consumer.”

A Woolworths representative commented on the woman’s Facebook post, requesting batch number information.

"We're aware of the customer's feedback and will pass it onto the supplier,” a Woolworths spokesperson told Yahoo News.

Fairy brand 52 pack dishwashing capsules are sold by multiple retailers, including Coles and Costco. At time of publication, no recall for the product has been issued.
