Women's Sports Foundation gala to stream on Yahoo Sports

For the second year in a row, the Women’s Sports Foundation and Yahoo Sports have teamed up to present the Annual Salute to Women in Sports. On Wednesday, October 13 at 8pm ET, the most important figures in women's sports are gathering to honor the trailblazers of today and yesterday.

This virtual live broadcast event is built to inspire millions to embrace the power of sport and join the movement towards equality. And just like 2020's amazing ceremony, you'll be able to watch the entire broadcast live and free on Yahoo Sports.

This year's festivities will be hosted by softball legend and MLB analyst Jessica Mendoza. She'll be joined by the founder of the Women's Sports Foundation, Billie Jean King, as well as Phaidra Knight, Meghan Duggan, Jordan Larson, Kaleo Maclay, Joe Torre, Julie Foudy, Tara VanDerveer and Allyson Felix.

Three people will be honored on Wednesday night. Four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka, who started an important conversation about athlete mental health this year, will be receiving the Wilma Rudolph Courage Award. Kim Ng is receiving the Billie Jean King Leadership Award. Ng is the first woman to become GM of a major American men's sports team and the first person of East Asian descent to become GM of an MLB team. Former Pac-12 commissioner and former chairman of the WTA Larry Scott is receiving the Champion for Equality award. The winners of the 2021 Sportswoman of the Year Awards will also be announced.

Join in Wednesday night at 8pm ET for a live celebration of the past, present, and future of women's sports.
