'Takes me forever': Woman's plea to Woolworths to add vital information to website

A customer has pleaded with Woolworths to change the way it allows people to shop on its website to avoid having to scroll through for vital information on certain products.

One thing the current filtering system does not allow is the ability to select products’ country of origin - making for frustrating and time-consuming work for shoppers looking to buy Australian.

A shopper pointed out the issue in a post to the supermarket’s Facebook page on Friday, calling on Woolworths to add a new filter to make her weekly shop easier.

“Please please please could you add a new filter to your website that allows to sort by country of origin?,” the woman’s post read.

“In my effort to support Australian farmers and businesses I make a conscious effort to buy local only and it takes me forever to scroll through your website and app when I do my weekly shopping online.”

The request appeared to have been received favourably by the retail giant, which promised to take the suggestion into consideration.

“Thank you for your feedback in regard to including the country of origin as a search option on our website,” a Woolworths staffer responded in a comment on behalf of the store.

An employee claimed the woman’s feedback was “very much appreciated” and the post had been shared with the team “for their awareness and consideration”.

There are currently 10 options for customers to filter their search on the website, including relevance, A to Z (product name), Z to A (product name), aisle, new, price low to high, and price high to low.

There is also the option to filter a search by selecting: unit price low to high, unit price high to low, and previously bought.
