How woman's mistake led to her winning Lotto twice in same draw

A woman has been left shocked after she won more than $800,000 from two Lotto tickets in the same draw.

The nurse from Heathmont, east of Melbourne, had two TattsLotto tickets which won division one prizes in Saturday’s draw.

She discovered her first ticket won $447,095 and later found she had another winning ticket in the same draw which scooped the same amount for a total prize of $894,190.

The woman bought her first ticket, marked with family birthdays, from a Euroa outlet.

However, she later bought a ticket with the same numbers from Heathmont Authorised Newsagency as she thought the first ticket expired.

“When we discovered we had won the first time we thought we’d pay off the home loan and car loan and it would take the pressure off and allow us to live happily,” the woman told TattsLotto officials.

“After the first one I was still planning on going back to work but after winning it twice I’m not sure if I will!”

The lucky outlets shared the winner’s excitement.

“The winner won twice! How lucky! How great for them,” Heathmont Authorized Newsagency owner Jasper Lai said.

Euroa News & Lotto team member Monica Murphy-Preston said they were “very excited”.

“We sold a division one winning entry about five years ago so it’s great to have sold another one,” she said.

The two wins were among nine division one winning entries in Saturday’s 3901 TattsLotto draw. Five of the winning entries were in Victoria, three in Western Australia and one in South Australia.

The lucky numbers were 23, 6, 2, 25, 43 and 26, while the supplementary numbers were 9 and 7.
