Woman's huge reward offer after dog beaten by stranger with 'blunt instrument'

A pet owner whose dog is in intensive care following a vicious thumping with a “blunt instrument” has offered a whopping reward for information on the culprit.

Lauren George’s dog Toretto was attacked by a “sick individual” Saturday night at her home in Burbank, in Brisbane’s southeast, leaving him with serious head injuries and brain trauma.

In what she hopes will encourage someone to come forward, she has offered a reward of $10,000, according to a post she made to Facebook on Sunday.

“Reward $10,000 for information resulting in the arrest of the perpetrator that assaulted my dog last night,” Ms George wrote.

“Vet confirms he was beaten over the head with an instrument.”

Ms George uploaded three photos showing Toretto’s head with bloodied wounds and a gash on the side of his cheek.

She told 7 News she heard some barking and yelping overnight before it went silent.

On Sunday morning, she found her Kelpie-Labrador cross at her front doorstep.

"He must have dragged himself to my front door this morning which is when I found him,” Ms George said.

The distraught pet owner was horrified at the amount of effort someone had gone to in an effort to seriously injure her pup.

"I live in a fenced-off property on five acres, someone's gone to a lot of trouble to hurt him,” she said.

While Toretto fights for his life at Redlands Veterinarian Clinic, Ms George is determined to catch the culprit who she believes could be capable of far worse.

Queensland Police told Yahoo News Australia they had not yet received a formal report.
