Woman's bizarre hangover meal from McDonald's goes viral

A woman’s unconventional McDonald’s order has gone viral after a photo of her receipt left people scratching their heads.

Kate Poole, from Toronto in Canada, had enjoyed a few drinks over the weekend and, like many, opted to place a burger order with the popular fast food restaurant the next morning.

In less popular fashion however, she took an interesting approach to modifying her order - instead of slapping on the extras, she removed nearly every single one of the burger’s toppings.

A photo of her receipt showed that she had requested no bun, no mustard, no onion, no pickles - and even no meat patty.

One ingredient remained though, and that was exactly what she received when her order arrived.

It was two sachets of Heinz tomato sauce alone in a container that, on a normal occasion, would be filled with a burger.

“So we had a few drinks last night and Kate decides a McDonald's hamburger will cure her hangover,” a post of the order and receipt shared to Ms Poole’s husband’s Instagram read.

“Now, Katie is the type of person who will make modifications to a classic - ‘no pickles, no onions’ etc. So this is what she ordered ‘no pickles, no onions, no mustard, no bun, no patty’.

“They literally sent us two ketchup packets! hahahahaha.”

The post sparked a huge response on social media, with people expressing their amusement at how ridiculous the order was, and even more so, at the way it was delivered.

In response to one comment, Ms Poole confirmed that despite receiving just two packs of sauce, she was still charged the full price of a burger.

“This is my favourite thing ever. I am still laughing,” another comment read.

“Omg I am dying!” another wrote.

Ms Poole also commented on her husband’s post, saying: “#Whoops”.
