A woman’s uninsured car has burst into flames less than half an hour after she purchased it from a car dealer.
Devastated Nicole Brandt claims it took just 22 minutes for her new SUV to be engulfed in a terrifying blaze on April 3 which has left the car a write-off.
Ms Brandt, from Wisconsin, in the US, is now embroiled in a dispute with the dealership after she claimed they refused to refund her the $4,000 (AUD) she paid for the second hand Chrysler Pacifica, US television station WITI reported.
She also says the car was uninsured.
Ms Brandt was driving to pick up her kids when the fire broke out.
“Something from underneath the engine. It was just melting. The engine was just melting out from underneath,” Brandt told WITI.
The dealership, Big Bill’s Auto, claim they have refunded her the amount yet the mother says she never received the payment.
“He didn’t do the refund,” she said.
Local police and firefighters investigated the fire but failed to determine the cause.
