Woman's body found in charity bin near shopping centre
A woman’s body has been found in a charity bin on Queensland's Gold Coast.
The woman was found dead just after 7am on Monday by a member of the public near a shopping centre in Burleigh Heads, a Queensland police spokesperson told Yahoo News Australia.
She is believed to be aged in her 30s and is understood to have had a habit of scavenging charity bins, according to the Gold Coast Bulletin.
Her death is being treated as non-suspicious and a report is being made for the coroner.
Yahoo News Australia understands the woman's death was a result of "misadventure".
Photos published by a Nine News reporter show police have cordoned off an area outside of Spotlight and Burleigh Town Tyre and Auto Service, which is located next to Stockland Burleigh Heads.
Update: Police are now treating the death as non-suspicious. It’s believed the woman may have become stuck inside the bin. Firefighters are working to cut it open. pic.twitter.com/0bnLNcyVIO
