Wanted woman's bold response after police share her mugshot on Facebook
A woman wanted by NSW Police has taken offence to a “trailer trash” mugshot shared online as authorities tried to hunt her down.
Newcastle City Police took to Facebook on Thursday in search of Tiffany-Anne Brislane, sharing a photo of the 23-year-old in the hope other users would be able to provide information on her whereabouts.
While police asked users to restrain from commenting on Ms Brislane’s appearance in the photo, a series of disparaging comments ensued, prompting the wanted woman to speak out.
“Loving the photo taken how many years ago. Let’s calm down on the comments guys, it’s not everyday I look like trailer trash,” she wrote on the since-deleted post, News Corp reported.
And while hundreds flocked to her comments to like her response, Newcastle City Police were far from amused.
“Tiffany-Anne Brislane probably time you walk into a police station before we find you,” they replied.
But Ms Brislane wasn’t finished there, vowing to see officers on Monday with her legal team to face alleged theft offences, News Corp reported.
“Thanks for the advice like I said youse [sic] will be seeing me bright and early Monday morning with my solicitor.”
Amid the “nasty” comments circulating on the posts, dozens of users pleaded for others to refrain from commenting on Brislane without knowing her story.
“I pray none of you ever have a family member or friend in this situation because most of you are just plain downright nasty with your personal attacks on this girl,” one person wrote.
“This is someones daughter, sister, loved one etc. Have a heart please.”
