Woman punched, kicked and dragged towards river after getting off ferry

A woman has been robbed and assaulted by a group of teenagers after stepping off a ferry in Brisbane.

The 35-year-old woman is believed to have alighted from the ferry at West End terminal and began walking through Orleigh Park at about 10pm on Monday when she was allegedly attacked by a group of juveniles.

Police allege the woman was punched, kicked and dragged towards the Brisbane River before she was able to escape.

The woman’s iPad was stolen from her as the youths fled the scene.

The injured woman was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with facial injuries and lacerations.

A short time later the Police Dog Squad was able to locate and arrest three teenagers in a nearby street where the woman’s iPad was also found.

A 14-year-old boy and two girls, aged 14 and 15, have been charged with one count each of robbery.

Detectives are continuing their investigations with police believing there are at least seven other youths involved in the incident.
