A North Queensland woman looking to sink her teeth into some KFC has been left disgusted by what appears to be raw chicken.
Rosi Lancaster wrote in a post on the KFC Facebook page that she went to the fast food eatery in the Townsville suburb of Annandale on Friday to purchase the chicken, but after buying it realised the chicken was raw.
“(I) rang immediately after,” Ms Lancaster.
“The girl on the phone seemed interested and asked me to email photos through and they would call back.”
Ms Lancaster claims she’s yet to receive a response after posting the pictures on Wednesday.
Her post has more than 8,300 comments with people horrified by the “gross” pink chicken.
“Yuck, how disgusting,” one woman wrote.
Another woman joked “maybe it’s time to go vegetarian”.
“That’s horrifying,” one man wrote.
A KFC spokesperson told Yahoo News in a statement the restaurant’s been in touch with Ms Lancaster.
“We’re very sorry to hear about this as it doesn’t meet our very high standards of food safety and we have been in touch with the customer to offer a full refund,” the spokesperson said.
“We’re also currently in the process of undertaking a full review of the incident to understand what has happened.”
