Woman missing after house fire
Police are appealing for information after a 38-year-old woman was reported missing following a house fire in a western Sydney suburb.
Emergency services were called to Percy St in Marayong about 10.30pm on Wednesday after reports of a house fire.
Firefighters extinguished the flames, which caused minor damage to the property.
It’s understood the property’s two occupants were not in the house during the time of the fire; however, a 38-year-old woman is unaccounted for.
“When a search of the home by firefighters failed to find the woman, officers from Riverstone Police Area Command initiated a search of the surrounding area, assisted by the PolAir, but she has not yet been found,” a NSW Police spokesman said.
She has been described as of caucasian appearance, 167cm tall, 85kg with a large build, fair complexion and black hair.
She was last seen at the Marayong property two or three days ago, and it’s unknown what clothing she was wearing. Police have been told she may appear distressed or confused.
Initial inquiries indicate the fire was not suspicious.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers om 1800 333 000.
