A woman has been injured after a molotov cocktail was thrown in her inner Sydney home.

It’s understood the 45-year-old woman was sitting in front of her home in Harkeith St in Mona Vale, in northern Sydney, about 10.30pm on Saturday night when the bomb detonated in the front yard.

According NSW Police, a fire “broke out on the veranda” on impact but the flames were quickly extinguished by the woman with a garden hose before calling emergency services.

The woman was treated for minor burns to her arms. She was transported to the Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
