Woman fumes after tradie plasters cat into bathroom wall

A woman came home from a business trip to find her cat was stuck in a wall after a tradie doing a renovation accidentally plastered him in.

Insurance agency owner Ashlin Hadden took to TikTok to explain what happened after poor Stripes was stuck there for three days.

“So I hired somebody to redo the bathroom,” she said in the video. “They pulled out the bathtub and put in the new shower thing."

"And as I’m sitting here trying to figure out where my cat is, I can hear the cat crying from somewhere in here,” pointing to the gap between the wall and new bathtub.

Ms Hadden also posted CCTV footage of her looking bewildered while trying to track down where the sad meows were coming from.

After tracing down the sound, she ended up punching a hole in the wall and thankfully reuniting with her beloved pet who is doing "fine".

Ms Hadden expressed her frustration with the tradie on TikTok.

"The stupid ass contractor drywalled my cat into the drywall underneath the (new) bathtub, she said in the video.

“This poor kitty was locked in there for three days."

Social media users react to cat being plastered in

Many people posted surprisingly hateful comments under Ms Hadden's videos, saying Stripes was neglected.

"Well the real solution is to not have a contractor work when you’re gone or someone there to watch the cat while they work," one person said.

However she assured them the contractor was well aware there was a pet in the house and that the cat had an "auto feeder and auto pooper".

"When the contractor went downstairs to get the paint he left the door open, he left the hole uncovered in the wall," she said in another video.

"Obviously the cat did what cats are going to do and was curious.

"I guess that’s why they say curiosity killed the cat."

Others came to her support, with one person saying the tradie should've "looked before sealing it off".

"People are being so mean. It was an honest mistake on all sides. Could have happened to anyone," said another.

"You are fine. It was a freak accident. Glad you thought quick and got them out," a third person said.

Strangely enough, there were several cat owners in the comments who said the exact same thing happened to them.

"Omg that happen to me too with one of my cats!!!" one person said.

"This really happened to me!" said another.
