Badly injured woman found on side of Sydney road by motorist

An injured woman has been discovered lying on the side of the road in the early hours of the morning by a passing motorist.

The 23-year-old was spotted on Euston Street in Rydalmere, in Sydney’s northwest, early Tuesday morning with emergency services called to the scene just before 2.20am, police said.

She appeared to be suffering facial injuries and bruising to her body, and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command established a crime scene and began investigating circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police said inquiries are continuing.
