Man charged after woman found dead at home
A woman found dead at a Bendigo home has been remembered as a great mum who adored her children.
Emergency services found Logee Osias unresponsive after they were called to the house in High St, Kangaroo Flat just before midnight on Sunday.
The 44-year-old was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Victoria Police on Tuesday charged a 44-year-old Junortoun man with her murder. He will appear in Bendigo Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Ms Osias was a mother of four and an active member of the Filipino community in the area.
The Bendigo Filipino Foundation has organised a mass at St Joseph’s Catholic Church for Tuesday night, to be followed by a prayer vigil.
Two school-aged children were still inside the house when police arrived, but they were not injured.
“ She’s a good mum, she’s a good friend and she does everything for her kids and they adore her,” a friend told reporters.
The 44-year-old man was subsequently arrested with the assistance of the Air Wing about 5am on 30 October, in a reservoir near Harcourt North Road on Monday morning.
Police say he and the woman knew each other.
Forensic detectives combed the scene for evidence on Monday morning.
The quiet, leafy street was disrupted by police tape cordoning off the brick home where the woman’s body was found.
