Woman fired from government job over naked Playboy photos

A Russian state official in a “secret” job who was fired for posing nude for Playboy says she is now homeless and cannot find new work due to the scandal.

Anna Anufrieva, 27, says her father refuses to speak to her “because I lost my shame in front of the whole country”.

She has suffered weight loss and stress over the scandal yet despite the blowback she has no regrets sending her pictures to the magazine.

Anna, from Russian oil capital Tyumen in Siberia, said she had to sell her flat because she cannot afford her mortgage repayments after losing her job and being refused new work.

“I have nowhere to live. No job, no boyfriend, no apartment,” she said.

“It is as if I committed a crime.”

“My father stopped communicating with me, claiming I lost my shame in front of the whole country,” she said.

“Nobody wants to employ me, and I wish they made it clear that it was because of the scandal.

“But they invent dozens of reasons.

Ms Anufrieva says she worked for a “secret state service” when she sent her risqué images to Playboy in an online competition to be featured in the magazine’s annual calendar.

Faced with an outcry in the summer when her pictures were published, she said: “Why is it only models, actresses, fitness coaches and bloggers who are allowed to reveal their bodies?”

As far as she is concerned, state employees should be permitted to pose naked.

“You all should get used to the thought that any woman who loves herself and cherishes her body can show it, including doctors, teachers and state servants.

“I like nude photography and I find the the harmonious female body a form of perfection, so please don’t judge but just enjoy it.”

She did not make it to the Playboy top dozen but she still does not regret entering the contest.

“Some would say – was it worth it?” she posted on social media recently.

“To lose a stable job in that secret state service, a prestigious position.

“It was all worth it ... Take my honest word as a state servant.”
