Woman 'faked autism' to sexually assault carer

A woman is being accused of trying to sexually assault a caregiver after pretending to be a twin sister with autism.

Rachel Childs, 29, of Texas allegedly lied to a caregiver telling the woman she would be looking after Ms Child’s twin sister, KHOU 11 reports.

She told her she had a twin sister with autism, instructing the carer before to pick up “the twin” and take her home for the night.

Ms Childs added she wouldn’t be home when the caregiver came to pick her sister up, Pearland.com reported.

The caregiver alleges “the twin” engaged in “sexually orientated conduct”. She added Ms Childs’s actions didn’t seem like those of an autistic person.

She also looked into Ms Childs’ background and found she’s an only child, police said.

Police said Ms Childs lied about having a twin and about autism so she could commit sexual acts with the caregiver.

She’s been charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault and indecent exposure.

The department added others could have been victims who may have been deceived by Ms Childs doing something similar and has encouraged them to come forward.
