Woman charged with murder after cop hit by stolen car

A woman has been charged with murder after a police officer was hit by a car and killed north of Brisbane.

Senior Constable David Masters, 53, died after he was hit by a suspected stolen car on the Bruce Highway at Burpengary on Saturday about 6am.

The car was later found burnt out on Quarry Road at Moodlu.

Police then searched an Upper Caboolture address where they arrested a 24-year-old Morayfield woman.

It’s alleged she was a passenger in the car.

She has been charged with one count each of murder, arson (motor vehicle) and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The woman has been refused bail and will face court on Monday.
