Woman charged with 2016 Adelaide murder

A 26-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of an Adelaide grandmother almost 18 months ago, with police alleging claims of a violent home invasion were fabricated.

Myrna Nilsson was found dead in her Valley View home in September 2016.

Her daughter-in-law, who was found in the street, bound and gagged, told police two men had killed the 57-year-old after forcing their way into the house.

She said they also tied her up before stealing property.

But Superintendent Des Bray said on Thursday they will now allege the claims related to the home invasion were fabricated and no-one else is being sought in relation to the case.

"Police would like to reassure the community that this was not a random incident and not a home invasion," Supt Bray said.

The accused is due to appear in the Mt Gambier Magistrates Court on Thursday.
