Woman charged with theft for Banbury eggs heist

A woman has been charged with two counts of theft and driving offences after 48 boxes of eggs were stolen.

The incident happened in a Marks & Spencer store at Gateway Retail Park in Banbury, Oxfordshire, on 27 March.

Thames Valley Police said the store manager reported the theft and that a suspect had escaped in a vehicle.

"Not your average poaching in Banbury," the force wrote in a post on X, showing a picture of the recovered eggs.

TVP said all goods had been "returned to their rightful owners".
