Woman caught driving 'four times over the alcohol limit'

A woman has been charged after allegedly crashing into a pole while more than four times over the legal blood alcohol limit in Sydney’s Inner West.

NSW Police were called to the scene at Strathfield on Parramatta Road following reports that a Volkswagen SUV had crashed into a pole just after 12.30am on Sunday.

The 26-year-old driver and two female passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

Police allege the driver returned a positive roadside breath test and was arrested and taken to Burwood Police Station, where she returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.202.

She was charged for high-range drink-driving and is expected to appear at Burwood Local Court on April 20.
