A child and a woman are dead after a four-wheel drive and truck crash in regional Victoria.
The vehicles collided in Kingston, near Creswick, on Sunday about 12.20pm when the child and woman were killed and two other people in the car were injured, police say.
A child, aged under 10, is fighting for life in hospital while the male car driver is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators said the truck appeared to have failed to give way at an intersection, The Age reported.
The impact reportedly sent the four-wheel drive careering into a roadside paddock.
A 10-year-old boy in the car sustained facial injuries and was flown to Royal Children's Hospital, while the driver, a man in his 30s, was taken by ambulance with minor injuries to Ballarat Base Hospital.
The truck driver was uninjured and is assisting police with their inquiries, police said, with the Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives investigating.
