Woman allegedly breaks into dentist, pulls 13 teeth from patient

A woman has been accused of breaking into a dental office where she works and stealing $31,000, as well as allegedly removing 13 teeth from a patient.

Laurel Eich, 42, from Reno, Nevada, was arrested this week on suspicion of commercial burglary conspiracy and performing a procedure without a licence.

Police with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a burglary at dental office on Sun Valley Boulevard on May 3.

Officers discovered a door ajar and a broken window and noticed only the register had been disturbed.

Just over $31,000 was taken in cash and cheques, police said.

Eich, a dental assistant, was identified as a suspect.

“During the investigation, detectives also learned that Eich performed 13 tooth extractions at an earlier date and time on one person,” the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said.

“Eich admitted to multiple people, including detectives, that she performed the medical procedure and used anaesthetic disposed of by the dental office.”

She was arrested on July 14 on multiple counts and is being held on a $27,125 bond.
