Woman Accused of Repeatedly Running Over Her Rideshare Driver, Killing Him

Jordan Spalding, 31, claimed her rideshare driver, 74-year-old Samuel Webster, tried to rape her during a ride in Phoenix on Jan. 21, police said, according to Fox 10 and ABC 15. At some point, both of them got out of the car, police said.
Authorities believe that surveillance footage and witness testimony show Spalding went back into the car and repeatedly ran over Webster, Fox 10 reports.
At around 5:15 p.m., officers responded to the scene, where they found Webster on the ground with "obvious signs of trauma,” ABC 15 reports, citing police. Webster was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
Police claim there was no evidence of an attempted rape and did not share what company Webster worked for, per the outlets.

Spalding was charged with second-degree murder and was being held on $1 million bond, Fox 10 reports. It’s unclear if she has entered a plea or retained an attorney to speak on her behalf.
PEOPLE has reached out to the Phoenix Police Department for comment but did not hear back in time for publication.
