A woman aged in her seventies has been arrested for her alleged role in an interstate drug trafficking syndicate that distributed hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cannabis in the mail.

The 72-year-old from Woodville Gardens is the 12th person from South Australia to be arrested over the syndicate. Police allege two groups in SA posted drug packages to associates in NSW and Queensland, who then on-sold them.

She has been charged with cultivating cannabis, possessing prescribed equipment and money laundering and will face court in mid-August.
