'Brother arrested' after woman, 20, found dead at Sydney home

The brother of a 20-year-old woman who was found dead in a Sydney home has reportedly been arrested.

Police made the grisly discovery at a Barlow Street home in Cambridge Park, in Sydney’s west, after they received reports of concern for the woman’s welfare about 9pm on Monday.

She has not yet been formally identified, but police said in the statement it is believed she is the 20-year-old occupant of the home.

Nine News reporter Tiffiny Genders wrote on Twitter it appeared police were removing a couch stained with blood from the home.

A crime scene was established and police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

On Tuesday police arrested a man, who was known to the woman, on Hainsworth Street in Westmead.

Nine News reports it was her brother, believed to be 39-years-old.

He was taken to Parramatta Police Station and investigations are continuing.
