The books and films may have wrapped years ago, but new generations continue to be enchanted with the adventures of Harry Potter and his friends. And those friends surely include his trusted snowy owl, Hedwig, who kept Harry company during dreary days at the Dursleys’ and brought him his mail during breakfast at Hogwarts.

Hedwig sits on a perch or a child’s hand, and she responds to touch with coos and purrs. She’ll nibble on fingers when she’s happy, and snap hard when she’s not. And, while this soft plush toy can’t actually fly, she can still deliver mail; place a letter in her beak and she’ll only release it to someone who knows the secret code — a sequence of various pets and squeezes. It’s great for passing secret notes to siblings and friends.

Parent reviewers use phrases like "absolutely fascinated" and "so excited" to describe the reactions of their kids. Hedwig casts a spell over girls and boys aged 5-9. This shopper said, "My daughter was absolutely fascinated by this Hedwig. We've had plenty of interactive toys over the years, but this Hedwig outpaces the others. It's really well done.... I highly recommend watching the three-minute video so you can see exactly what you need to do to help Hedwig reach her full capacity."

Another said his son was “so excited” when he opened the box.

This parent reported that Hedwig is a big hit in their household: “We LOVE LOVE LOVE Hedwig so much! She is just perfection! She stands perfectly on her perch and trills at you, but also does have an auto-off so she doesn't waste batteries. She flaps her wings and can even hold and "deliver" her letter. The letter stands up nicely on the stand and the envelope is a laminated material, so it stands up well to playing. Even if you don't want to play with this, it's a gorgeous piece for a desk or shelf. Hedwig is soft and white and so pretty. She's very well made!”
