Will Smith is continuing his push into the fashion world with a new, limited-edition “Bel-Air Miami” collection of his Bel-Air Athletics brand to celebrate his longtime affinity for Miami.

“Miami just agrees with me spiritually, vibrationally and emotionally,” said Smith, “I just believe places have that for certain people and it's an X-factor.”

Though Smith will always be linked to his hometown of Philadelphia, the mega-star’s ties to Miami date back to the days of his acclaimed TV 90’s sitcom, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” Smith became so enamored with partying “in the city where the heat is on” that it inspired the hit single “Miami,” featured on his 1997 multi-platinum album, “Big Willie Style.”

The unisex collection features many colorful looks that include tropical hues, animal prints and a color palette that draws from the city’s unique culture and vibrancy and vintage Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes uniforms.

The line has a home/away theme, much like that of the uniform of a pro-sports team. The brand says the concept is said to represent the intersection of one’s comfort zone (home) and the excitement/risk associated with new adventures (away).

Standout pieces include the “Bengal Varsity Jacket,” the “Alma Mater” sweatshirt and sweatpants set, and the “Split-Time Hoodie,” which comes in three color-blocked versions created by cutting apart three sweaters and reassembling them.

The ‘VK Miami’ tees pay homage to an essential Civil Rights Movement Miami landmark, Virginia Key Beach, which served as the only beach in the city that welcomed people of color during Segregation. The ‘Bel-Air Bengal’ tee features Bel-Air Athletics’ new mascot, as do the colorful, tiger-striped ‘Bengal Socks,’ perfect for binge-watching Smith’s other Miami-based hits, “Bad Boys,” “Bad Boys II”, and “Bad Boys for Life.”
