Wild moment wedding brawl erupts in affluent Sydney suburb

Shocking video has emerged of the moment a wedding reception in one of Sydney’s ritziest suburbs erupted into a violent brawl on Saturday night.

Roughly 30 guests were filmed by stunned bystanders fighting in the middle of a busy intersection at The Spit in Mosman, with one man seemingly knocked unconscious.

Cars can be seen coming to a halt as the group of men and women wearing suits and dresses throw punches at each other.

At one point, a tall bald man charges at a woman before other partygoers intervene.

Another group of people can be seen tending to what appears to be an unconscious man lying in the middle of the road in front of a white Toyota. The driver tries to reverse out of the situation.

The video was posted to Reddit by a witness who claimed even the wedding party was involved in the brawl.

“This is after a wedding. Not sure the context but the groomsmen and guests were fighting amongst themselves,” they said, Daily Mail Australia reports.

The fight took place outside two popular wedding venues near Spit Bridge.

“I get angry too waiting for those lights to change, but this is ridiculous,” one person said.

“So many different groups fighting. What's happening? Who did what? Did the car hit that guy? I do hope everyone is ok though — especially the guy on the road,” another wrote.

A third person who claims to work “at the Yacht Club next door” said they “probably served those people drink before the wedding”.

Mosman wedding brawl under investigation

NSW Police told Yahoo News Australia officers with the North Shore Police Area Command are investigating the Mosman brawl.

“Police were called to Spit Road near Parriwi Road about 11.35pm, responding to reports a group of up to 30 people were involved in a fight,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“When police arrived, however, most had left the scene and those remaining were reluctant to make a complaint.

“Following further inquiries, police on Sunday, spoke with a 26-year-old man who told police he’d suffered a broken nose as well as injuries to his face and ribs after being knocked unconscious during the affray.

“Inquiries are continuing to identify those involved.”

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
