A man who allegedly stole six televisions from a Sydney CBD hotel while disguised in a wig has been arrested and hit with nine offences.

NSW Police first began investigations about six weeks ago following reports a man had entered a hotel on Sussex St and allegedly committed the crime.

Extensive inquiries led police to a home in Blaxland, about 65km west of Sydney’s CBD, where they executed a search warrant on Thursday. At the home, authorities seized property that had been allegedly stolen, as well as a gel blaster gun.

A short time later, they arrested a 37-year-old man who was stopped while driving in Berkeley Vale – a suburb on NSW’s Central Coast.

Police will allege they also found prohibited drugs as well as clothing and wigs in the man’s car.

Following the man’s arrest, police have shared photos of three blonde wigs that differ in style and shade.

He was also slapped with nine charges including entering a building with intent to commit an indictable offence, wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an indictable offence, disposing of stolen property, and committing a section 114 offence while having a previous conviction.

He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear before Wyong Local Court on Friday.
