Why scoffing your Easter chocolates in one hit could be better for you

Those who like to ration their Easter chocolates out for days and weeks might want to think again.

It turns out polishing your supply off in one big whack could be the way to go if you want to do what is best for your teeth.

Putting aside consideration for your waistline, experts at Swedish oral hygiene company TePe recommend eating up your sugary stash in one go.

The science behind this approach is linked to the acids in your mouth.

Snacking on chocolate all day can put your teeth under “constant attack”, with it taking between 20 minutes and two hours for them stabilise after a big influx of sugar.

So if you get it over with in one hefty binge, you could minimise prolonging the damaging effect sugar can have on the insides of your mouth.

The experts also suggested eating your sugary treats after a meal as the acid damage would not be as severe.
