Hollywood hunk Zac Efron shattered hearts across the country — and no doubt the world — after he stepped out hand-in-hand with his rumoured new girlfriend in Byron Bay over the weekend.
The High School Musical star, who has been holed up in the NSW coastal town for several months, appeared to confirm his budding romance with local lady Vanessa Valladares.
The pair looked loved up while stepping out for a bite to eat at Byron hotspot The Farm in snaps published by the Herald Sun, with the 32-year-old Baywatch actor and his new flame unafraid to show off some PDA over lunch.
So, who is Vanessa Valladares?
Vanessa is thought to be a Byron Shire resident who previously worked as a waiter at the popular General Store cafe earlier this year.
After coupling up with Zac in July, the 25-year-old has reportedly since ditched her day job and shacked up with her A-lister beau at his Belongil Beach home.
Vanessa currently has a small social media presence, with just over 7k followers on Instagram — but that’s surely set to increase in no time.
The brunette beauty enjoys sharing snaps of herself at the beach, going out to restaurants and hanging with her friends. In one pic she carries a surfboard, hinting that her hobbies are in line with keen surfer Zac’s.
From the looks of some of her photos, Vanessa might also model part-time for fashion brands such as RVCA and Rove Byron Bay. She also posed topless for an artsy black and white shoot with a local photographer in early 2019.
Vanessa and Zac set the rumour mill into overdrive last week when they were spotted at Ballina airport on their way home from a snowy getaway to Thredbo. Their subsequent brunch date in Lennox Head further indicated that the pair were officially an item.
Back in June, rumours swirled that Zac had been secretly living in beachy Byron Bay for months after locals claimed to have spotted the actor in the NSW coastal town during the coronavirus pandemic. Word is, Zac is in for the long haul after reportedly renewing his visa for another 12 months.
“He was only planning to fly home if he had to,” a source told Daily Mail of Zac’s travel plans. “He didn’t really want to go back to America.”
Perhaps the Greatest Showman star first fell in love with life Down Under back in December 2019, when he was rushed to an Aussie hospital for urgent treatment after falling ill while filming a doco in Papua New Guinea.
