West Ham coach Stuart Pearce 'inundated' with calls from David Moyes during Wolves win, says Alan Irvine

West Ham coach Stuart Pearce was "inundated" with phone calls from absent manager David Moyes as the Hammers claimed their first Premier League win of the season against Wolves.

Assistant manager Alan Irvine was left in charge at the ground following Moyes' positive test for coronavirus earlier this week, with the Scot calling in from his Stratford apartment.

Pearce was constantly on the phone in the stand as Jarrod Bowen scored twice before a Raul Jimenez own goal and late Sebastien Haller header sealed all three points, with Moyes in control throughout.

"There were a lot of phone calls with David Moyes," Irvine said. "Stuart Pearce was inundated. David picked the team and controlled the substitutions.
