West Ham have announced they will begin their pre-season programme with a training camp in Scotland next week.

The Hammers will travel to Scotland next Tuesday for five days of training before returning to London to continue their preparations for the new season.

West Ham have also confirmed their pre-season friendlies will begin on August 25.

On that day, David Moyes will split his squad with one team travelling to newly-promoted Championship side Wycombe Wanderers and one to League One Ipswich Town. Both matches will kick-off simultaneously at 2pm.

West Ham say further pre-season friendly matches will be confirmed in due course.

Meanwhile, former Hammer striker Albian Ajeti is targeting Champions League football after completing his £5million move to Celtic.

West Ham have boosted their transfer funds by selling Ajeti after one disappointing season at the London Stadium. The 23-year-old Switzerland international joined the Hammers for £8m from Basel last summer but failed to score in 12 appearances last season.

After completing his move to Celtic on Thursday, Ajeti said: “There is not a player in the world that doesn't want to play Champions League.”
