Waterspout Forms Near Seven Mile Bridge in Florida Keys
A waterspout was spotted forming off the coast of Marathon, Florida, near Seven Mile Bridge, on May 19.
Keara McGraw recorded this video just before she began “prepping for the Monroe County Sunset Celebration,” she said.
The video shows a funnel begin to form and eventually swirl on the surface of the water. The National Weather Service reported two observed waterspouts near Bahia Honda and Boca Chica, and warned boaters to avoid spouts at all times as they can “easily flip your boat.” The NWS added that conditions would remain “favorable for waterspouts from Big Pine Key through Key West Harbor.” Credit: Keara McGraw via Storyful
