WATCH: Woman's surprising find inside bag of chips

A woman looking to indulge in a salty snack in the UK has been dealt far more than she bargained for.

Nadia Snow, 26, from England’s Scunthorpe, had purchased a packet of ready salted flavoured ridge cut chips from supermarket chain Lidl last week when she noticed something was weighing down the chip’s bag.

Baffled by the apparent foreign object inside, she filmed the moment she opened the packet to discover what was inside.

And to her disbelief, a full potato rolled out onto her kitchen counter.

“It’s a f****** potato!,” she said, breaking into laughter with a friend.

Ms Snow uploaded the short clip to Facebook, with friends online as puzzled as her.

A Lidl supermarket spokesperson appeared to see the funny side of the mishap, giving a pun-filled statement to British news site Metro.

“This is a real hot potato of an issue,” the spokesperson said.

“Whilst a whole potato crisp might be a-peeling to some, we would like to take the opportunity to chip in and apologise to the customer for any distress caused.”
