Watch Thorgy Thor help Addie rediscover her confidence through drag
On this episode of Dragged, host Thorgy Thor (@thorgythor) gives Addie a stunning drag makeover to help her express her true self! Addie tells Thorgy that growing up, she suffered from severe chronic asthma which caused her to struggle with her weight and gave her self-esteem issues. But when she was introduced to the world of drag, everything changed for her.
“As I got older, I started to watch drag and it made me realize, if they can be confident, why can’t I?” Addie tells Thorgy.
Addie shares that she doesn’t have anything in particular in mind when it comes to the styling of her new drag persona. She just wants to feel powerful and confident. “I honestly think I can trust you with my full being,” she says.
With full creative freedom, Thorgy heads over to the fashion closet, where stylist, Blue, shares some ideas. “Maybe a little bit of brightness, a little bit of florals. I’m thinking maybe this little number. Comes with a cute little jacket,” Blue says, pulling a gorgeous pink floral print unitard with matching jacket off of the rack.
Thorgy immediately agrees that the unitard, with its vibrant pink roses, is perfect for Addie. “I love that, like blooming. Like a new drag fantasy self,” she says. “This is gorgeous. Addie’s gonna feel amazing.”
Next, Thorgy heads to the makeup station, where makeup artist Elle LC is giving Addie the makeover of her dreams. “I almost passed out,” Thorgy tells Addie, inspecting the glittery pink eyeshadow Elle LC has expertly applied. “You’re so gorgeous.”
With her makeup almost finished and her outfit chosen, there’s just one thing left to figure out: Addie’s drag name. Elle LC immediately suggests something floral-inspired to go with Addie’s outfit. “I’m thinking something… in bloom,” she says.
“Judy Bloom!” Thorgy suggests.
“I feel like a Judy Bloom,” Addie enthusiastically replies, and her drag name is settled!
After adding a few finishing makeup touches and a voluminous blonde wig, Judy Bloom is ready to hit the runway. She spins around and blows a kiss to the camera, before telling Thorgy that she feels absolutely amazing. “I feel beautiful. Like drop dead gorgeous,” she says. “This outfit is beautiful. I had a good time.”
“You are a sass monster,” Thorgy replies. “I am so proud of you, Judy Bloom.”
